Fourth-grade student Wade Jobson earned a special reward this morning for his incredible dedication to reading: a Friday morning ride to school in a Lower Providence Fire Truck! Wade, who is in Mrs. Conrad's class, was the overall challenge winner of the annual Read-a-Thon after logging an astounding 1,840 minutes of reading during the fundraiser. He received a hero's welcome, greeted by cheering teachers and staff who lined the entrance to clap and congratulate him on his great accomplishment.

Wade’s success was part of a broader record-breaking effort by the entire Eagleville community. The 5th annual Read-a-Thon, which supports the largest Home & School fundraiser, achieved its highest numbers ever:

  • $21,220.00 Raised: The most funds ever collected for the event.

  • 85,901 Minutes Read: The highest collective reading time since the Read-a-Thon began five years ago.

These record-breaking results reflect the community's powerful focus on literacy and school support. Every student, teacher, and family member should be incredibly proud! The funds raised will go directly toward supporting programs and initiatives for our Eagleville Elementary students.
