We understand that the recent developments impacting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefit distribution may cause challenges for some families. Our district is committed to supporting our community during this time.

Below is a list of community organizations and local resources offering assistance with food and essential needs. We encourage families who may be affected to review these options and connect with the services that best meet their needs.

We are grateful for the continued partnership of our local agencies and community groups in helping ensure that all families have the support they need.

Please note that the free and reduced meal program in our schools will continue to operate as usual.

Students who currently receive SNAP benefits are automatically eligible for free school meals through a process called direct certification.  Once a student's eligibility is determined, it remains in place for the entire school year—even if funding for SNAP ends. This means any child receiving free school meals based on SNAP participation will continue to receive free lunch for the remainder of the school year.

In addition to lunch, ALL K-8 students are eligible for free breakfast, regardless of income. The universal free breakfast program has been in place for several years, with meals served daily to Methacton School District students before the school day begins.
